Winter '09 Fiction Short Story Contest
(Deadline: Midnight November 15th 2008)
We are now running our sixth
semiannual Fiction Short Story Contest. To see previous winners, check our archives.
Here’s how it
works:
You like short stories, we like short stories, let's say you write some and send it to us along with six bucks, we'll
read it for our contest. Then we'll read the entries the other kind folks send us. If we pick yours as number one or number two, you
get cash. Half of all we collect goes to prizes with a minimum payout of $100 First Prize and $50 Second Prize.
We add up all the
six dollar bills people send us with their short fiction stories, cut the total in half, and give 35% to first prize and 15% to second
prize.
The other half of the six bucks (three bucks) goes to site upkeep; you understand (ads, hosting, bribing friends
to copy edit, etc...) So if you don't win the short fiction contest, you are at least supporting the arts, if you do win the short
fiction contest
You’re supporting yourself. Nice thought ey?
If you don't have the six bucks, don't fret. Submit your fiction
short story to our fiction editor and have it considered for publication in Ramble Underground. You won't be entered in the short
fiction contest, but you may get published.
The winning entries and one honorable mention will be published and spotlighted in our
next issue. Send your best short fiction.
